Beware the Guru
I’m naturally suspicious of anyone with the self-appointed title of GURU.
It whiffs of someone who feels the need to elevate the importance of their job, and/or exaggerate the level of their expertise.
I’m happy to be an expert and I’m comfortable in saying I have a speciality. But I’m not arrogant enough to think I;m still not learning.
None of us know everything about or area of expertise. It’s our job to keep our skills sharp and be up-to-date with the tools of our industry.
Rant over, other that to say the same goes for the following:
• Marketing gurus
• SEO Ninjas
• Social Media Jedis
• Any rock stars other than ‘rock stars’.
