Beware the Guru
I’m naturally suspicious of anyone with the self-appointed title of GURU.
It whiffs of someone who feels the need to elevate the importance of their job, and/or exaggerate the level of their expertise.
I’m happy to be an expert and I’m comfortable in saying I have a speciality. But I’m not arrogant enough to think I’m still not learning.
None of us know everything about or area of expertise. It’s our job to keep our skills sharp and be up-to-date with the tools of our industry.
Rant over, other that to say the same goes for the following:
• Marketing gurus
• SEO Ninjas
• Social Media Jedis
• Any rock stars other than ‘rock stars’.
